Ben Affleck faced backlash from Jennifer Lopez’s fans for making her appear as a “side chick” following his recent outing with his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner.
The controversy reignited after Affleck and Garner, who share the responsibility of co-parenting their children, were spotted together in Santa Monica, California, getting into Affleck’s black Mercedes-Benz. Their three children were not present during the outing, which infuriated supporters of Lopez even further.
Fans expressed their dissatisfaction on social media, accusing Affleck of neglecting Lopez and being more interested in spending time with his ex-wife. They perceived his actions as making Lopez look like a secondary or less important partner.
Affleck has not yet responded to the backlash, but this incident added fuel to the previous controversy in which fans labeled Garner a homewrecker for being close to Affleck despite his marriage to Lopez.
The “The Last Thing He Told Me” actress was photographed hugging Affleck from the backseat of the car, and he leaned his head backward during the outing to pick up their daughter.
A few days later, Lopez and Affleck were seen looking tense and serious in a photograph with Lopez’s daughter, Emme, sparking rumors of marital issues.
Lopez and Affleck married in Las Vegas a year after rekindling their relationship in July 2021. Before their reunion, Lopez was engaged to Alex Rodriguez, while Affleck was married to Garner until their divorce in 2018.
