Megan Thee Stallion is gearing up for a new era in her music career, but her recent teaser posts on Instagram have led some netizens to claim she copied Beyoncé and Taylor Swift. The rapper, known for her hit “Bongos,” posted pictures of herself posing nude and images of snakes on Instagram to tease her upcoming music.

She shared three carousels on Instagram, featuring cover images labeled “Act One,” with the “O” in “one” replaced by an image of a snake. The captions on these posts read, “Let’s Begin” accompanied by a snake emoji.

While many fans were excited about Megan Thee Stallion’s return to the music scene, some netizens had mixed reviews. They pointed out similarities between her “Act One” and Beyoncé’s “Renaissance” and the snake references, which reminded them of Taylor Swift’s “Reputation” era.

One netizen expressed support for Megan but found the “Act One” naming choice cringe-worthy after Beyoncé’s similar reference, and another mentioned the influence of Beyoncé and urged to call it something else. Others noted that Megan might be symbolizing a rebirth or transformation with the snake imagery.

Megan Thee Stallion’s break from music was partly due to her plans to go independent after her 2022 release “Traumazine” through 300 Entertainment. She revealed that she currently has no label and is funding her music independently, expressing her excitement about the opportunity to do it her way.
